If you go to the Church website there is a link for finding a meeting place.
Put in your friends address and it should give you the information you are
looking for.
However, it may not be right. I moved to a fairly sparsely LDS populated
part of the country (not where I live now in Minnesota) and put my new
address in and it gave me a branch that was nearly an hour's drive away.
The ward I was supposed to be in was about 15 minutes drive in the other
direction. And, as sometimes can happen with how boundaries are set up and
where the physical buildings are located, I was just on the wrong side of
the boundary for a ward that was even closer to where I lived.
I learned all of this by calling the building phone number for the branch
that the website gave me. I got a message with the branch president's home
number. I called there and told them I moved in and asked how to find the
church. When I told them where I was coming from, they told me about the
closer ward and gave me the phone number of that bishop (and still indicated
I was welcome if I really wanted to visit). I called the bishop and he told
me when their meetings were. I recognized the street the building was on,
so I attended. While there they asked about where I lived, I responded and
they directed me to the correct ward. I suppose this could have been done
over the phone when I first spoke with the bishop.
So... short version. After the website tells you which ward to visit, see
if there is a phone number and make a call and verify it. You may need to
follow a chain of phone calls like I did to get to the real right answer.
Good Luck and enjoy your visit to the states.
