We were one of the pilot stakes. This was a fairly common problem in the
first weeks of the conversion. I had one pair of recommends where the
husband's number was on the wife's recommend and vice versa.

After running into this situation a couple of times, I told the bishops to
keep a current ward list--with membership numbers--with the temple recommend
book and that he and his counselors should verify the member number on every
recommend. I'm sure the numbers had been wrong for years with bishopric
members blindly copying the numbers from the previous recommends.

This problem has pretty much gone away. Since bishoprics change, a reminder
every so often during the monthly bishopric training meeting is probably
warranted.

We began imputing in MLS the new bar coded recommends today in earnest.
With some of them we had a problem with record numbers being off. Some by a
few digits, but one was completely the wrong number.
