If you have a full name and a birth date of a parent or child it will
generate what looks like a membership record number, except there
won't be a membership record attached to the number. The record number
is used strictly for family linkage purposes. It'll come in handy when
their temple work is done someday I imagine as we work toward putting
everything together in a unified family tree database.
I'm going to guess that the ones without the numbers probably don't
have birth dates either, so there isn't really anything to track that
is sure to uniquely describe a specific person/spirit.
