(I just realized that this license discussion is about TreeSize, which I
brought up in the first place...)

I agree, the wording of the license means to me that he expects that people
will use the free version, even at work, until they see a reason to buy the
full version.  I have used it at work once or twice and see no moral or
ethical problem with it.  The author is probably pleased as puddin' that I
liked it enough to recommend it and get more eyeballs on his web site.  Also
looking at the website one more time, he has a "Personal" edition which is
just $20.  If I use the thing a couple more times I'm seriously considering
it.

Take into consideration that I write code for a living too.  I take licenses
and their moral and legal implications very seriously.  If people steal my
software, that hurts my ability to provide for my family.  Freeware, in this
case, is advertising as someone said already.

Ultimately, maybe I should email the guy and ask him for an opinion.  Maybe
he'll update and clarify the license.  (Wonder how you say "TreeSize" in
German...)
